Power Read The Bible In 60 Days With Jeff Andersonنموونە

Day 38
CONTEXT
[Scheduled Reading: Jeremiah 18-34]
One of the cool experiences about power-reading through the Bible is the opportunity to gain “context.”
While cruising through Jeremiah you’ll encounter a familiar passage:
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope(v29:11).
It’s one of the most famous and frequently quoted verses in the Bible. But it has deeper meaning for those who have been reading through the Old Testament.
For nearly 38 days we’ve been reading about the journey of The Seed: starting with Adam… and eventually Noah… then Abraham…. then King David…
And now even after the kingdom has been divided (the southern and northern split), and both kingdoms have been captured, God wants His children to know that He has their future in his control.
God wants the Israelites to know that after 70 years of exile are complete, they will be restored to their place. (Sure enough, that happens - remember Ezra and Nehemiah?)
It’s all part of keeping his promises to his chosen nation. And keeping The Seed alive.
