Journey With Hopeنموونە

profound generosity
We read today about a powerful moment with Elisha and a widow. A creditor is about to take her children as slaves, she can't pay her debt. She is broken and lost.
Elisha calls her to bring as many pots as she can muster into the house. She calls upon her neighbours and forms a large number. She begins pouring oil into the pots, one after another.
Miraculously, she fills them all until none are left to fill.
Its a remarkable picture, that points us to the power of the blood of Jesus poured out for us. No matter how far we fall short, and how desperately we need mercy, Jesus' blood can fill the pots of our shortcomings.
When it is all said and done the widow has enough to pay her debts and live off the remaining oil.
When Jesus' blood is poured out for us, our debts are paid and there is enough left for eternal life.
Profound generosity, really.
