The Burning Bush 

Moses and the Burning Bush. It’s a story that reveals and exemplifies how God can speak to people in some crazy, unconventional ways. Moses is simply tending to his father-in-law’s flock of sheep. Suddenly, he encounters this bush that’s on fire but isn’t burning up. Moses wasn’t doing anything extraordinary; he was simply tending sheep! He probably had no idea God was going to speak to him right then and there, yet God had carefully planned and anticipated that very moment. 

Throughout the Bible, God speaks to people in lots of different ways. The bush that’s on fire but not burning up is just one of them. God doesn’t speak to everyone in the same way, sometimes it can be as strange and extreme as a burning bush, and other times it can be a whisper or vision that you just know didn’t originate from you. Don’t wait for a youth camp, church on Sunday or Youth on a Friday for God to speak to you. God speaks in the incredible moments and in the mundane, everyday moments too. He speaks to everyone in different ways, places and times.
