Love God Greatly: Words Matterنموونە

What's your favorite social media platform? Instagram, Facebook, Twitter? On which of these do you spend most of your free time? Let me share with you some of the things I've realized about social media:

1 – People have conversations they wouldn't have face to face because of a certain degree of anonymity. Many people offend others behind a screen because their face and name are unknown.

2 – Many of the conversations on social media are absurd controversies. People start arguments for the sake of arguing. 

3 – Most of the people on social media share their personal views without taking into account the point of others. 

As Christians, we are called to have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies, to avoid unprofitable arguments and arrogant words. We must be as careful with our words on social media as we are in real life. 

Social media can be a wonderful tool to reach others and tell them about Jesus. We can use it to encourage, to help people on the other side of the world and to build up the church. Are you using your social media influence to honor God and bring Him glory?

Oh Father, help me be accountable for the things I share on social media. I don't want to behave like the world, arguing and contributing to controversy or slander. Help me to be wise with the words I share online. I want to be a witness of Your work, a messenger of the good news of the Gospel. In Jesus’ name, amen.
