Day 6 – Common ground
Reflect
The tanner's house was not hard to find because of the odours the business produced. Jews would avoid such a place because of the handling of carcasses and Gentiles avoided it because of the stench. What a place for a divine convergence! Nothing was appealing about Simon the tanner's home, but God was in the midst of it, creating a shared space to meet. The Holy Spirit alerted Peter to his soon to arrive guests. Was Peter surprised when he saw that they were Gentiles? Probably not, as he invited them in to be his guests.
Respond
Holy Spirit, I admit that there are people whom I don't usually feel comfortable being with. Help me to find common ground so that I can share your love and the good news of Jesus Christ.
