Your New Identity For A New Eraنموونە

NEW BEGINNINGS

Stop dwelling on past events and brooding over times gone by. I am doing something new. It’s springing up - can’t you see it? I am making a road in the desert, rivers in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:18-19, CJB)

Every day with Jesus is an opportunity to start all over again. You are made new by His love for you, and He has a wonderful future for you. You have to let past events go and stop brooding over times gone by. Wishing is never going to bring back the past, nor is it going to change it. The Israelites who were being led through the wilderness towards a greater future, yearned for Egypt, even though it was a place of slavery. They stayed in that misery for 40 years because they could not see the new thing God was doing. Your new identity calls for a new vision. God wants to bring in the new, but you have to let go of the old. Making roadways in the desert and rivers in the wasteland is pretty miraculous. He wants to do the same in your life. What do you need to let go of today, to walk into what He has destined for you tomorrow? You have to let Him free you of your old self and take on His new identity. It is a whole new way of living.

King David in Psalm 139:2-4 writes: I'm an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I'm thinking. You know when I leave and when I get back; I'm never out of your sight. You know everything I'm going to say before I start the first sentence. When you know your identity in God you never need to try to hide from Him. He truly is the God who sees. He knows you at your best and when you feel sad, mad, or glad. He knows your ups and downs, your joys and sadness and He loves you. He doesn’t focus on your faults and mistakes; you do. He sees what you can be, He sees you how you are meant to be. And through it all, He rewards you openly with favor and honor. With your new identity, shouldn’t you see yourself the way God sees you?

Give me a deep knowing that your eye is ever upon me and that I am never out of your sight, Lord.
