Baptism in water
When you think about summer it’s hard to not think about ice cream, sunsets, the beach, and swimming. There is nothing quite like the feeling of being submerged head to toe in the water! I don’t think there’s been a summer that hasn’t gone by where I haven't seen people flocked to the beach and cool down from head to toe in the ocean.
Like with summer, baptism involves water and being fully immersed [1 Peter 3:21]. For followers of Jesus, submerging in water is a symbolic act of joining in Jesus’ death (as you go under), resurrection (as you come up out of the water) [Romans 6:3-4] publicly declaring your faith [Col 2:12-13]. Baptisms are always an exciting part of anyone's faith journey, and it’s an important step that every believer should take.
PRAYER
Jesus, thank You that You love me enough to die for me and that You want to do life with me. Over the coming weeks, grow my desire to want to get baptised and publicly declare who You are in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
