Be Still and Be Happy: Devotions for Womenنموونە

All Pleasure
The psalmist speaks of pleasures that will last forever, yet they are unlike any earthly pleasures. They are far better. They are eternal because they are founded in heaven, in eternity itself. Similarly, they never lose their appeal. They have a foundation in God's worship.
What are we looking for in terms of pleasure? Do we regard our solitary devotional moments as a dull component of our lives that must be counterbalanced with other forms of enjoyment? If we have a genuine relationship with Christ, we will be drawn to a place where we may gaze in awe at the beauty of Jesus Christ. If we cannot see Christ this way, we might not be seeing him at all.
Lord Jesus, how beautiful you are! Today, please be my source of joy and contentment. May the fleeting pleasures of life not replace the pleasure I derive from knowing you.
