Draw Near - Prayerنموونە

Prayer is simple and it’s profound and miraculous. You’re talking with the creator of the universe like you would talk to your best friend. In fact, you don’t even have to speak words aloud to talk to God, you can talk to God from your heart, like thoughts in your mind.
You may ask, if God already knows all about me, why do I need to pray? He knows what you are going to do before you do it. He knows how many hairs are on your head and He created every inch of you, but He still wants you to pray.
Prayer is important because of what it does in your life and the lives of those around you.
Imagine that prayer can be like a magnet. A magnet has a magnetic field that is invisible. It pulls metal things towards it, attracting them and drawing them near. Prayer is like a magnetic field, drawing us closer to God. He invites us to draw near to Him in prayer.
We can pray continually because God is always listening.

This devotional is designed to lead children and pre-teens to draw near to God through prayer. We want to learn to pray because of who God is, not what He does and to understand Holy Spirit helps us pray.
