Have you ever made a "domino effect" mistake (where one action causes something else to happen)? From that first action, different people were affected. That mistake seemed to take you down a path that you didn’t ever think you’d take. The choices we’ve made can be really difficult to process because we think of how different life could’ve been if not for that one decision. It would be so great to have a magic wand and turn back time.

The Psalmist asks God to forgive them for an unforgettable mistake that’s been made. This prayer of forgiveness isn’t a magic wand that can go back and change things — but it does give hope for the future. This prayer shows that we can be forgiven for the mistakes we think are unforgivable. That forgiveness is a gift from God that gives us hope for the future and unconditional love from God.
