Song of Salvationنموونە

An abundant source of joy
“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” (Isaiah 12:3)
The song described by Isaiah in verses 1 and 2 is not just an expression of temporary and fleeting emotions. The joy of the singers comes from abundant “wells of salvation” from which they can draw again and again.
The Lord Jesus uses the same image with regard to Himself. He invites people who are “thirsty” to come to Him to drink living water. (John 7:37) What an amazing offer of grace! When your joy is about to dry up, when your strength is exhausted, don't go looking for all kinds of solutions by yourself, but come to the Lord Jesus. Talk to Him in your prayers. Meditate deeply in His words in the Bible. That gives real joy.
John 7:39 explains to us that the Holy Spirit plays an essential role in this process. When He dwells in us, our hearts overflow with living water. This ties in very nicely with Galatians 5:22, where “joy” is mentioned as a fruit of the Spirit.
Make a list of things that give you joy. How does this list relate to the Lord God? Does He appear on it? Do you receive things that bring you joy as gifts from His hand?
