God speaks to people in all kinds of ways. We see in the Bible that God spoke to Daniel in visions and dreams. God might speak to you through pictures in your mind, a feeling in your heart, through showing you a passage in the Bible, or He might send someone to tell you His message. God speaks to different people in different ways. When we pray, read God’s Word, learn about Him and worship Him, we learn to recognize His voice. When we feel like God is speaking to us, we know His character and who He is. If what we are hearing lines up with God’s word and who we know Him to be, then we can be sure it’s Him speaking.

When God speaks to you, maybe for the first time, you could be wondering what it means or what you should do. Maybe you’ve asked God to help you or show you which choice to make. Maybe you have found yourself in a tough situation and you need God’s help. When God speaks to you, you should obey and do what He says. God may have given you a message to encourage someone else or spoken to you about His plans for your future. We should do what God says and go and encourage the person with God’s words. We can trust that God’s voice is leading us.
