We can be thankful for so many things in life, like family, sunshine, chocolate, and puppy dogs. Even with so many things to be thankful for, we can sometimes get into an ungrateful, bad attitude. We can lose sight of the things we should appreciate and become grumpy, critical, or down in the dumps. Don’t you think it’s much better to have an attitude of gratitude?
What if you’re eating a yummy ice cream, but you trip over, and it falls on the ground? You can be mad about losing half your ice cream, or you can have an attitude of gratitude and be thankful for half of the ice cream that you did get to eat!
No matter what happens in life, you can always find something to be grateful for, even if it’s a small thing like ice cream.
When you love something or someone, you want to sing about it! Many of the Psalms are songs of gratitude to God, like Psalm 100. It's a great example of having an attitude of gratitude! When we live with an attitude of gratitude, we praise God with a thankful heart.
What are you thankful for? Take some time today to write down those things and give thanks to God for them.
