Celebrate Communion – a Time to Honour Jesusنموونە

There is a scientific hypothesis called the “forgetting curve” which shows just how quickly we forget information after we’ve learnt it. Our memory is like the muscles in the body; we need to exercise it! So, if we regularly take time to remember something, we will strengthen that memory. When we take communion, we are making time to honour Jesus, remembering what He has done for us. It’s a memory worth keeping strong.
Jesus taught His disciples how to remember Him, using the bread and cup as symbols for what He did for us. This is something the first believers of the early church continued to do; Paul even writes about it in his letter to the church in Corinth, and this teaching is still a part of church today. Don’t forget to remember! When we take communion, we take time to honour Jesus, remembering what He has done for us.
