A Powerful Union

I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great His power is to help those who believe Him. That same mighty power raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand. (Ephesians 1:19–20 TLB)

How do we navigate our way out of a period of time when separation feels safe, and togetherness feels like a test of our faith? We move forward knowing every trial comes to an end, and every test strengthens and stretches our trust in God. Darkness is dispelled by the brightness of a love that can’t be dimmed. God’s love is our compass through every storm. Even when it feels impossible to believe, purpose emerges from suffering and sorrow.

God’s unfailing purpose reigns supreme through every period of time (see Ephesians 1:10). The goodness of God can’t be submerged, no matter how devastating our difficulties. The depth of our pain creates a powerful pull toward the source of our courage, resolve, and restoration. God is with us. He is our Captain, our Companion, and our Comforter. His prevailing purpose is setting our course. The togetherness we need most is our union with Christ. That’s where the power lies—and it lives in you.

I pray for Your power to be revealed in everything I face today, Lord. Nothing is greater than the strength in me when I depend on You.
