Day 1: Trusting God's Sovereign Plan for You and Your Child

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

As a single mother, you may often feel the weight of responsibility as you raise your child. The pressures of providing, guiding, and nurturing can be overwhelming at times, and there may be moments where you wonder if you’re doing enough or if God’s plan for your life—and for your child’s life—is unfolding as it should. But the Word of God assures us that He has a good plan for us. His plans are filled with hope and promise, not harm.

Take a moment to reflect on the life of Hagar in Genesis 16. She was an Egyptian servant who found herself in an incredibly difficult situation—pregnant and abandoned in the desert. In the midst of her distress, God appeared to her and spoke a word of promise over her future and her son, Ishmael. Despite her circumstances, God had a plan for both her and her child. Hagar, who was overlooked and dismissed by others, became the recipient of God’s provision and care. Just like Hagar, God sees you, and He has a plan for you and your child—even if you don’t yet understand it.

Even in the uncertainty of single motherhood, God’s sovereignty over your life is unwavering. He is at work, guiding you and your child toward His purposes. When we trust in His plan, we can find peace, knowing that He is not only with us but also guiding every step we take in raising the next generation.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the promise that You have a plan for my life and for my child. I may not always understand the path ahead, but I trust that You are guiding us with wisdom and love. Help me to embrace Your plan, even when it feels uncertain, knowing that Your plans are good. Fill me with peace, knowing that You have a purpose for me and my child. In Jesus' name, Amen.
