Signs of Power

When Jesus gave the Great Commission in Mark 16, He didn’t merely send His disciples out to share words; He sent them out with Power. His command to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel" wasn’t just about verbal proclamation—it included a demonstration of the Kingdom through signs, miracles, and wonders.

Jesus was clear: “These signs will follow those who believe.” Casting out demons, speaking in new tongues, healing the sick—these were not optional extras for a select few. They were to be the evidence of the Gospel’s Power, affirming the message of Salvation. Yet, how often are these signs omitted from our understanding and practice of the Great Commission?

It’s no wonder Jesus first rebuked His disciples for their unbelief and hardness of heart. They struggled to believe even after witnessing His Resurrection Power. Perhaps we can relate. It’s easier to focus on the “safe” parts of the Gospel—teaching, preaching, or serving—while neglecting the supernatural element that Jesus so clearly emphasized.

The Kingdom of God is not limited to words or good deeds; it is a demonstration of Divine Power. The Gospel is alive, and the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us. If we believe, signs should follow—not as a measure of our worthiness but as evidence of His Authority and Love.

We are not just called to speak the Truth but to show the Truth. The world doesn’t just need to hear about Jesus; they need to encounter Him through us.
