Back in the Love Bubble

Before we begin looking at loving others in a deeper community, it’s important to start with the revelation that we are loved by an eternal, ever-present God who has made a way to deeply know Him and experience His Love. It’s only from this understanding that we can deeply love others; because we cannot give what we haven't first received and experienced.

Since before time and creation itself, God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have existed in a perfect, eternal relationship, where love abounds without limit. In this holy space of unity, Adam and Eve were created and placed in the Garden of Eden, experiencing the fullness of God’s love and extending it to each other. They lived in communion with God, surrounded by His presence and favor. We can call this “The Love Bubble.”

But sin disrupted this perfection. It pulled humanity out of this love bubble, leaving a gap no amount of human effort could bridge. When we reflect on that loss, we can see just how devastating it was; a breaking of a relationship with the One who is love itself.

Yet God’s story throughout Scripture is one of relentless pursuit. From the moment Adam and Eve were sent out of Eden, God has desired to bring us back into the love bubble. He wants us to live in that incredible relationship with Him again, not as outsiders peering in, but as participants fully surrounded by His love.

This is where Jesus comes in — God's love in human form. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus made a way for us to re-enter the love bubble. When we accept Him, we are brought into a new reality: we are in Christ. There are no barriers, no walls to deeply knowing His love. We are completely enveloped in the fullness of God’s love.

This incredible truth transforms how we live. Unlike the Old Testament law, where love was often reduced to following rules, we now have access to a new way of loving; love that flows directly from God through us. It’s a love that doesn’t rely on our own strength or perfection, but is empowered by the Holy Spirit within us.
