The Secret to a Fruitful Life

Have you ever felt like you were running on empty—spiritually dry, emotionally drained, and practically unsure how to keep going?

I’ve been there.

There have been seasons where I was doing all the “right” things on the outside, yet inside, I was disconnected—exhausted from striving in my own human effort.

In John 15:5 (NKJV), just hours before going to the cross, Jesus gave His disciples—and us—a powerful picture of how to truly thrive. He said, “I am the vine, you are the branches.” In other words, He’s the Source. We’re not designed to produce fruit on our own. We’re simply called to stay connected to Him.

That’s what it means to abide—to remain, to dwell, to live in close relationship with Christ. When we do, His life flows into us. His peace, His strength, and His love overflows in our hearts—and fruit begins to grow. But when we disconnect, even subtly, our lives begin to dry up.

Friend, if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or spiritually unfruitful, maybe it’s time to pause and ask: Am I abiding in the Vine—or striving in my own strength?

Let’s remember daily to abide in Christ!

As you engage with God’s Word:

● What is God saying to me?

● What does it mean to me?

● How can I apply what God is teaching me?

● How can I be specific in prayer today?

After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
