Jesus in His Own Wordsنموونە

Dying on the Inside? Read This.
I’ll always remember years ago, when I was working with teenagers in New Orleans, one of them asked me, “What exactly is a resurrection?” Great question. A resurrection is simply when something dead comes back to life. That’s what Jesus does—and it’s also who Jesus is.
In John 11, Jesus receives news that His close friend Lazarus is sick. Yet instead of rushing to his side, Jesus delays… and Lazarus dies. By the time Jesus arrives, Mary and Martha are heartbroken. One says, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother wouldn’t have died” (John 11:21 NKJV). Maybe you’ve felt the same way. You’ve prayed and believed, but it didn’t happen the way you hoped. Perhaps you’re facing a delay, disappointment, or even death—in your faith, your relationships, or your dreams.
In response, Jesus makes this powerful declaration: “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25 NKJV). You see, He doesn’t just perform miracles—He is the miracle. He doesn’t just bring resurrection—He is the resurrection. When Jesus shows up, dead things come to life.
Friend, maybe today you feel like you’re dying inside—in your doubts, in the delay, or in your discouragement. Here’s the good news—resurrection power isn’t just for the future… it’s for you today. Even now, when it feels too late, Jesus can breathe life back into what feels dead.
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to me?
● What does it mean to me?
● How can I apply what God is teaching me?
● How can I be specific in prayer today?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer. To discover more faith-building resources like this, I want to personally invite you to sign up for my weekly devotional email today!
