Share Goodness

God is gracious toward his children. He leads us like sheep to green pastures, and he offers us rest and nourishment. He provides for us faithfully, and he protects us when we are weak. All good things come from his hands, and he desires to bless us with abundant life. God’s hand is evident in every part of our lives, and we are blessed when we reflect on his faithfulness. It is good and right to talk about the goodness of God.

When we normalize talking about what he’s done, we normalize a relationship with him that is focused on consistent, daily interactions. The more we talk about his character and actions, the more we cultivate gratitude within our daily lives. Taking the time to remember God’s faithfulness encourages our own hearts, but it also encourages those around us. We all need to be reminded that God is in control and that he loves to provide for his children. Talking about his provision creates space for the people in our lives to grow in awareness of God’s work in their own lives.

Tell your family about God’s goodness. Talk about what he has done and how he has been faithful to you. Recount his faithfulness and talk about specific instances of provision. Don’t keep those stories to yourself. Let them seep into the conversations you have as naturally as you might talk about the weather or what you’ve been reading lately. Normalize giving God the credit he is due, and watch as the culture of your home begins to change. As you share in a non-complicated way, your family will see that a relationship with God is simple and lovely.
