Ways to Overcome Your Fears: Devotions for Girls (I Am Fearless)نموونە

Tempting Jesus two times wasn't enough for Satan---he even tried to tempt Jesus a third time! Satan showed Jesus all the beauty of the world that He could have if He just followed him.
Remember that Jesus had not eaten for a long time, so He was really hungry. But Jesus knew the Truth and He followed it. Once again, Jesus used Scripture against Satan, and in Matthew 4:10 (NIV), He said, "Away from Me, Satan! For it is written, 'Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only."
So first, Jesus told Satan to get away. Next, He shared the truth of Scripture. And what happened after that? The devil left Jesus, and angels protected Him. When people try to lure us in by showing us all the worldly things we can gain by making ungodly choices, remember that Jesus is SO much better and more fulfilling than worldly things.
Reflection:
Is there a situation where you have tried to find fulfillment with worldly things? Maybe with popularity, doing things to fit in, having cool clothes, or something else? Share about it.
How can Jesus' response encourage you to look to Him as well?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that I am Fearless. When I feel afraid of not fitting in and try to fill my heart with things that don't last, remind me that I am always accepted by You and that You are the One who brings lasting peace. In Jesus' name, amen.
Action:
Make a list of things that you try to satisfy your heart with---both good things and ones that are not good things. Circle which ones you would like to try to pursue more.
