God, Where Are You?نموونە

Day 4: Finding God’s Faithfulness
When I used to say, “God is faithful,” what I really meant was that God would do whatever I wanted Him to do.
In my mind, His faithfulness meant being faithful to me—to my plans, my desires, and my timeline.
So when God didn’t do what I expected, I started to question His faithfulness. I started to question His presence.
But I’ve learned something important:
Our personal perspectives of who God is and how He moves can make Him feel closer or further away.
But feelings and perspectives don’t always tell the full truth—and they’re often shaped by limited understanding.
In today’s Scriptures, we’re reminded of the bigger picture of God’s faithfulness.
In Genesis 3, God gives a prophetic promise that the “seed of a woman” would come and crush the head of the serpent. This points to the virgin birth. This promised seed would become the Savior of humanity, rescuing us from the grip of Satan.
Now, after that prophecy was given, a lot happened. Humanity rebelled. A flood came and wiped out nearly all of creation except Noah and his family. God rescued Israel from slavery and brought them into the Promised Land—only for them to fall again into captivity.
And then—Jesus came. The fulfillment of Genesis 3.
Through every up and down, through every season of humanity’s unfaithfulness, God remained faithful to His Word. He didn’t forget what He said. He didn’t cancel the promise. He kept His word—because that’s who He is.
Sometimes we cry out, “God, where are You?”
We look around at our circumstances and assume His silence means absence. But the truth is—He’s still here. Still faithful. Still keeping His Word. Even when we can’t see Him in the way we expected, if we look closer… we’ll find Him right where He’s always been: Faithful. Present. And true to His promises.
Prayer:
Dear Father God, help us to see Your faithfulness—even when it’s hard, even when it’s dark. Remind us that You are faithful to Your Word, even when we can’t see what You’re doing. Help us to trust that no matter how things may look, You are here, and You are still keeping Your promises.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Reflection Questions:
- Have you confused God’s faithfulness with Him doing what you want?
- What does it mean to trust God’s faithfulness to His Word rather than just to your expectations?
- How do you respond when God’s timing or plan looks different from yours?
- Can you recall a time when God was faithful, even though it didn’t feel like it at the time?
- What promises from God’s Word do you need to hold on to today?
