Day 13: Jairus Asks Jesus for Help

Jesus often sailed to different parts of Galilee. Wherever he went, people would come to the shore to meet him. One day a man named Jairus came to ask Jesus a special favor.

What do you think Jairus wanted from Jesus?

Jairus said, "Jesus, please help me! My little girl is dying!"

Why do you think Jairus asked Jesus for help instead of a doctor? Could Jesus help Jairus? What do you think Jesus said to Jairus?

Jesus comforted Jairus and said, "Take me to her." Jesus set off for Jairus’s house right away. But when they were only halfway there, a man came running up with a message! What do you think the messenger said?

The messenger said, "Jairus! I’m so sorry, your daughter is dead… There’s no need to bother Jesus anymore."

How do you think Jairus felt when he heard the message?

Jairus was shocked; he didn't know what to do.

But Jesus told him, "Don’t worry Jairus. Just trust me."

Why did Jesus ask Jairus to trust him? Did Jesus have a plan? What was Jesus thinking?
