His Escape Plan
On long-distance buses and aircraft, emergency exit routes are carefully installed to prepare for situations beyond immediate control. Though rarely used, they are intentionally designed and positioned long before any emergency occurs.
In the same way, God has prepared escape plans for His children when temptations feel overwhelming. These divine provisions are not improvised in the moment—they are prearranged expressions of His faithfulness. Submission to God positions believers to recognize and walk through His prepared way of escape.
2 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) declares, “The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations.” Those who belong to Him, through salvation and a godly life, are never left without help. God’s awareness of temptation includes His provision for deliverance.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) offers further assurance: “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it". The escape route exists within the trial itself. God does not always remove the temptation instantly, but He always provides a path to endure and overcome it.
Just as an emergency exit is part of the original design of a vehicle, the escape plan is part of God’s original design for every season of testing. Temptation is never random or uncontrolled. It operates within the boundaries of God’s sovereignty.
Without temptation, there would be no need for escape. And without God’s faithfulness, there would be no hope of victory. But because He is faithful, every testing phase carries within it a mapped-out path toward triumph.
Temptation is not the end of the story; it is often the pathway leading toward His escape plan.
