Oh, what a beautiful verse to meditate on today - filled with so much truth and encouragement, reminding us of God’s great love for us! This verse starts out with God being a Mighty Warrior who saves us. He has defeated death, and has rescued us from our sin. What a loving, powerful, victorious Savior!! But His love is also tender and merciful. The war cry turns to victory, and towards God’s desire for a love relationship with us. He is a personal, intimate God, who pursues and delights in His children – Wow!! Christmastime – even with its colorful lights, bustling streets and cheerful festivities - often is a time that reveals hearts that deep down are lonely and longing for love and meaningful relationship. Friend, if this describes you this Christmas, let me encourage you to run to Jesus. He longs to fill your empty spaces with His love!
