 Who are you determined to carry to Jesus Christ?

What issues are you determined to carry to Jesus? 

Who are you determined to bring to Jesus? 

How determined are you to follow Jesus when hindrances appear, entrances seem blocked, and others gather in pursuit of their breakthrough around you?

Where are you willing to go to follow Jesus? 

What sacrifices will you make to follow Jesus?

What relationships are you willing to let go to follow Jesus?

What relationships are you willing to pursue and hold on to as you follow Jesus?

In scripture, we read about the determination individuals displayed in order to get directly to Jesus. Hindrances appeared, entrances were blocked, and crowds gathered but the determination to follow Jesus was evident in actions, faith, and hope. When we pursue Jesus we find Him and we are able to enter into his presence to receive the breakthrough we followed Him to obtain. 

This is encouraging because during the challenging times in our lives when we are seeking an answer from the LORD obstacles come in many forms but our God-honoring determination serves as one of the many keys in following Jesus no matter what’s going on in and around us.  

Scripture reveals four men who were determined to follow Jesus Christ for someone paralyzed in pain, past, position, and progress. These four men knew enough about Jesus Christ to collectively exhibit determination to follow Jesus for this paralyzed man to see Him, experience Him, and receive deliverance from his paralyzed condition. 

These four men didn’t give up when they saw the large crowd blocking their intended point of entry. These four men didn’t give up when Jesus continued discussing with the very people who blocked the door the word of God, no these men were determined to bring this paralyzed man to the one who could heal his pain, past, position, and stagnant progress. 

God-honoring determination brings forth actions that produce fruitful manifested results benefiting one individually and with those whom they are in association with.  

 God-honoring determination also causes one to rise above the hindrance to receive the breakthrough. These four men removed the roof above Jesus, dug out an opening, and let down the mat in which the paralyzed man was lying. Their determination to follow Jesus and confidence in who He is caused the breakthrough in this man’s life and no doubt theirs also.
