Determined To Follow JesusSample

Another example of someone who was determined to follow Jesus in their uncertainty was Ananias. Ananias was presented with a task that required faith, trust, belief in God, and strength. 

In scripture, we read about how Saul was on the Damascus road and Jesus Christ met Him and changed his life forever. Saul persecuted believers of Jesus Christ and his reputation preceded him.  

Believers of Jesus Christ witnessed the heinous acts facilitated by Saul and the effect it had on the disciples, followers of Jesus Christ, and even non-believers. When Jesus called Saul on the Damascus Road, the course of his life changed from persecutor of Christ to Paul the promoter of Christ. 

Now Ananias a disciple of Jesus Christ wasn’t aware that the conversion of Paul was taking place and Jesus called Him to complete a task that he knew Jesus was in, but his past experiences with Saul and what he heard caused Him to seek confirmation regarding God’s call and divine plan. 

In scripture Ananias knew Jesus was in it, because He spoke directly to Ananias informing him to go directly to Saul where he was praying and to lay hands on him that he may regain his sight.   

Ananias obeyed and the confirmation of what God called Ananias to do was in His obedience and determination to follow Jesus. Ananias witnessed the confirming power of God when he saw everything the way the LORD told him it would be. 

When Jesus is in it, He will confirm His word to you! 

Although past experiences with people invoke feelings of caution we must follow God because He not only has a plan for our lives, but a plan for their lives also. Be encouraged to follow Jesus even when situations seem backwards, upside down,  and flat out don’t make sense. 

God’s ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. 

Obedience, determination, and following Jesus is key!
