NEXT STEPS: Lead A Home Group

DAY 2 OF 10

WHAT ARE HOME GROUPS NOT?

Have you ever had someone invite you to their house for dinner but found out it was all to trick you into buying their new product they’re selling? Or if you were in the midst of a conversation that started out honoring God, but eventually went to “so and so needs prayer because they’ve been really struggling with (insert gossip here).” Or maybe you’ve been caught talking with another Christian about something you are struggling with, and because that person is also having a problem with the same thing, you begin to justify your behaviors.

As Christians, any time we get together we need to be on guard for conversations that lead to slander, justification, and godless chatter. The enemy knows how important unity and relationships are, so he works overtime when Christians come together to grow and seek after Jesus. We want to be careful any time we gather together that we are glorifying God through our behaviors, discussions and thoughts - you never know who in your group hasn’t made the decision to follow Jesus or is new to their faith. They will be looking to you as an example of what it looks like to follow Jesus.
