Leadership Pain: Hope In The Midst Of TrialsSample

Paul: Perpetually Persecuted
There isn’t an apostle in the New Testament that was more routinely beaten, jailed, and ridiculed than Paul. He was originally named Saul before his Damascus conversion. And one could argue that by the same token, there is no other apostle in the New Testament who was more courageous under tremendous fire of persecution.
Think about the amazing peace Paul had during many beatings and imprisonments; it is truly remarkable and only possible through His knowledge of and relationship with Christ.
Why do we doubt when we run into trials much less scary than beatings and false and harsh imprisonment?
Christ wants to use our circumstances to remind us how much we should trust Him more…and how little we really do trust Him when it comes right down to it.
We usually don’t trust God until we have no other choice.
About this Plan

While we rejoice at many triumphs of leaders in the Bible, we scarce remember their frequent, often undeserved, trials. It is during these challenges of life, survived over decades usually, that God creates a foundation for their incredible leadership success. We will examine many heroic, overcoming stories and how God’s word encourages us during difficult circumstances. Leadership isn’t easy, but He will always be with us.
