What is worship?
On Sunday, I looked a little different. I didn’t wear my regular clothes.
On Sunday, I hung out with different friends. They weren't my regular friends.
On Sunday, I talked a little different. I was extra careful to watch my mouth.
On Sunday, we tried to be the best versions of ourselves. We treated Sunday special because it was the day we worshiped God.
When Jesus talked about worship, it was less about a once-a-week gathering and more about a lifestyle. Worship was how you lived, honoring God and honoring others. Jesus likened real worship to how we treat people different than ourselves.
That’s the thing about being human - we are worshiping beings. We are always worshiping something because our thoughts, motives, and actions are always pointed to something or someone. T
he question isn't if or when we are worshiping. The question is to whom are we worshiping? Don’t limit your definition of worship to a particular event. Worship is about how you prioritize God over everything and you prove this as you love others.
