DAY 15 OF 15

ALIVE AGAIN

Have you ever had someone buy something for you in an unexpected way? Maybe you’ve pulled up to the window in the drive through at your favorite coffee place only to learn that the car in front of you has already paid for your coffee, or another table picked up your tab while your family dined out, or a friend took care of a long overdue bill. Your pulse probably began to race in surprise, you felt a little confused, and then you were completely overwhelmed with joy at the fact that someone would go out of his or her way to be kind and randomly pay for you. What’s wonderful about God is there was nothing random about His act of kindness in paying the price for us. His sending His only Son, Jesus, to the cross as the payment for our sins was an intentional act of perfect love. It’s often easy for us to forget just how deep God’s love is for us and begin to lose the joy of our salvation. Distractions begin to fly our way, we get a flat tire on the freeway, a new financial struggle just seems to appear daily—we can become so weighed down with the troubles and circumstances of life that we struggle to find a reason to have joy. Yet God instructs us to find the excitement and the joy in knowing that we are no longer slaves to our sins, but we are alive in Christ simply because of His act of love. We have a reason each day to celebrate, because we understand that Jesus dying on the cross for us was the most undeserving, real act of love in history. We are no longer dead in our sins, we’re alive again, free to enjoy eternity next to Him.

Day 14

About this Plan

Greater

This study plan is a complement to the Central Live album titled Greater , and covers some of the scriptural truths that inspired us when writing it. For the next two weeks, let’s explore and savor the personality of God, worship Him through song, and live with fresh gratefulness for our rescue. Greater comes from John 3:30, which is an aim Central Live strives to achieve every day: “He must become greater and I must become less.”
