21 Prayers Every Christain Should PraySample

DAY ONE – “HELP ME”
Today’s Bible Reading: Psalm 40:1-17
King David was known as a godly man. In fact, God, Himself, once referred to David as, “a man after God’s own heart.” I would say that’s a pretty good reference for a person’s resume. Yet, in spite of the fact that David was a godly person, David always humbly acknowledged his total dependence upon God. And I believe humility was the single most important reason for David’s success.
David’s attitude before God is on display in today’s scripture, particularly in verse 17, where David writes,
But as for me, I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
you are my God, do not delay.
Every Christian, deep within, senses our need for God’s help. As we begin our 21-day journey together, let’s begin with an important confession. Let’s confess our total, absolute need for God’s help. Every good thing that comes from our lives will come as a result of God’s grace at work within us.
