One Heart for God
Mark 12:30 "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’"
According to Matthew 3:17, Jesus knew how much the Father delighted in Him . The Father's declaration over Him, would form the basis of His life on earth. From this personal revelation, Jesus responds with a wholehearted devotion towards His Father. To be wholehearted includes being committed, devoted, dedicated, passionate, radical, unshakable, unflinching, unswerving, constant and loyal. This response flows from a heart that has discovered the immensity of Christ’s love for them personally and then desires to make it known to all around them. Acts 2:37 tells the story of a group of people who were introduced to the greatest act of love when Christ died on the cross and who were ‘cut to the heart’. Their immediate response was ‘What shall we do?’ Coming face to face with the love of Christ awakens us from our own passivity and launches us into Kingdom mission.
Reflect
- May we respond to the HEART OF GOD who gave it all and give our ONE HEART to live for God’s glory!
- In what ways do you show that you love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength?
Prayer
- Pray for strength to fully comprehend the greatness of God’s love towards you (Eph. 3:17-19)
- Pray that we would be taken up by the love of Christ and be changed by the working of the Holy Spirit.
