Walking In Victory Sample
After the victory in Aid, Joshua and the people went to the valley between Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim to build an altar as Moses had commanded them to do in his last speech to the people (Deuteronomy 27:1-8). Joshua made the altar exactly like it ́s described in Exodus 20:25 and the offerings were made word by word as it was written in the Law of Moses. Even the position of the tribes was made according to Moses ́s instructions in Deuteronomy 27. They were making the altar and the sacrifices following the exact guidance of the Law as an assurance of the commitment of the nation of Israel to God. The Law was read, repeated and explained to let the people know that there are blessings in obedience.
As Christians, we need to know the Word of God and be careful to obey it. That ́s why is so important to be in the Word every day, to meditate on it, memorize it and apply it to our lives. When we respond to God in obedience, blessings come down to us and spread around us. Jos. 8:35 says that there was not a word of the Law that Joshua didn't read to the congregation. Let ́s remember today that all Scripture is inspired by God and useful to our lives.
Lord, give me ears to listen. Give me hands to serve and legs to walk humbly in Your presence. Wake me up and don ́t allow me to waste my life. In Jesus name. Amen.
