Come, Let's Go! Discipleship In Evangelism

DAY 3 OF 7

MEMORIZE MATTHEW 24:14

"And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."

COME...AFTER ME

Deny yourself. Take up your cross daily, and follow me. That's what Jesus said anyone needed to do if they want to "COME AFTER HIM" It was offered to all, but so few actually do it. Daily? How's that working for you? Most of us can barely read our bible daily. It's hard for people to go from where we are with Jesus right now to the place where we are ready and willing to lay our lives down for him.

When Jesus said all this in Luke 9, He had not yet died on His cross. The people all knew the picture Jesus was painting with these words. They had seen many Roman executions on crosses before. Criminals carrying their own cross to their crucifixion were put on public display. You could image the disciples saying, "What are you talking about Jesus? What's with all this cross talk?"

Jesus showed them what He was talking about when He modeled for them exactly what He meant years later. After much denial, doubt, unbelief, and lack of faith these guys finally got it. Then they followed in His footsteps. The testimony of the Apostles are amazing. They laid their lives down for His name's sake. They were crucified with Christ. They were told by everyone to stop talking about Jesus or we are going to kill you. They refused to stop talking about Jesus so, they were killed and the church could not be stopped.

The power of the Gospel, the power of the Resurrection, and the power of the Holy Spirit are all unstoppable.

LET'S GO...PREACH THE WHOLE GOSPEL, TO THE WHOLE WORLD, TO THE WHOLE PERSON.

There are five great commission passages in the bible. Today, we are going to look at the one in Mark 16. This was not the great suggestion. We either do what Jesus said or we disobey. Disciple Making is way simpler then you might think. They preached the whole gospel. They were not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.  They went out and preached everywhere. They went to the whole world. Think about everyone, everywhere. They cared for the whole person and did the same stuff they saw Jesus do. They healed the sick; they cast out demons. The Lord worked and confirmed their message with signs and wonders. If you read through the book of Acts, you will see it in detail.

God did it. Those that came after Him got to be a part of it. It has always been God's plan to work through His people. The church is the people. We are the church. What if right after we asked people where they went to church, we started asking people where their church goes? We believe we could finish the task of saturating the globe with multiplying disciples in our generation if every part of the body did their part. What is your part in this? Come, Let's Go.

COME LET'S GO TRAINING TIP

"The Training Cycle" a simple process to get everything to everyone, everywhere.

Jesus showed us a simple pattern to make disciples that multiply. Jesus didn't do everything for everyone. Jesus trained everyone to do everything. It will eventually get to everyone everywhere and then the end will come. The training cycle is as easy as teaching someone to ride a bike. Model, Assist, Watch, and Leave.

We were made to multiply. Sometimes we get content and complacent with just adding people to the Kingdom of God. The only thing that is wrong with the comfort zone of addition is that it can't even keep up with population growth. There are almost eight billion people on planet earth right now. If we really want to get to everyone everywhere we just can't build buildings big enough and fast enough. We can't professionally train pastors fast enough. Our church programs are not working. There is not enough money in the budget the way we are currently doing things. Something has to change.

What if we went back to the way Jesus did it without buildings, budgets, programs, and staff? We believe that Jesus "modeled' it. He showed us what He was talking about. Jesus "assisted" people to get started. Jesus "watched" and invested deeply in a few people that were faithful with the little things. Then Jesus "left" them. His method seems to have worked pretty well. Model, Assist, Watch, and Leave. The Training Cycle. This process turns one into many. The training cycle turns a mission into a movement. COME, LET'S GO!

Day 2Day 4

About this Plan

Come, Let's Go! Discipleship In Evangelism

Three times in I Samuel, Jonathan said to his young armor bearer, "Come, Let's Go!" Three times in Revelation 22 Jesus said, "I'm coming soon!" It's been more than 2,000 years since Jesus made this promise. Jesus gave the church a simple job to do. It's called the Great Commission. So church, why hasn't Jesus COME back yet? We need discipleship in evangelism! COME, LET'S GO!
