Beauty that Pours Out Everything
Remember that girl who walked into some random Pharisee’s house to pour perfume at the feet of Jesus? Remember that she was called a “woman with a sinful life?”
I don’t understand this woman.
How can you give that up? An entire year’s salary and not to mention that it’s a jar full of perfume? Just buying how many milliliters of perfume these days is already quite a stretch, and she gave an entire jar. To add to the strangeness of this story, you show up at a Pharisee’s house - someone who’s sure to judge you, and you use your hair to wipe a man’s feet.
But that’s how in love she is.
I think most of us women have forgotten what it’s like to be that much in love with someone that we don’t care anymore about what people will think about us, we don’t think of the cost - but we just love on someone with everything in us. From our heart to our hair.
Here’s a beautiful example of that kind of love that only a woman can have. I think it’s the kind of beauty that shines through the centuries, and Jesus saw it, too.
Lady, whatever state of mind you’re in, I know that you have such a love to give. I know you’re probably holding yourself back and thinking, “what if they don’t see? What if I waste this treasure inside of me?”
Pour it out into our Savior. He understands, He sees you, and not only that, He’s in a great place to reward and restore that treasure.
