River Valley Church SOAP - Part 2Sample

Jesus now begins his public ministry in the region of Nazareth, Capernaum, and around the Sea of Galilee where he grew up. The message of the Kingdom began with John the Baptist and continued to be proclaimed by Jesus. People recognized the message of the Kingdom was synonymous with the authority, reign and rulership of God. The Sermon on the Mount was a launching point of Jesus early ministry. Jesus distinctly characterizes the message of the Kingdom to place more value on the motives and intentions of a person, rather than only the outward behavior which others would see. No longer was the emphasis on the action or compliance to the law, but the spirit of the law which would be expressed in behavior toward others, and material possessions.
