Five Principles of God's Love

We all desire to experience love which has that quality and consistency, but very few do. However, it is possible. God's Word teaches five facts about love.

Principle 1: God loves us unconditionally.

His love is demonstrated through the cross. God's love is unconditional because His love does not depend on the person being loved. When you come to Christ, you are a sinner and yet God loves you. You do not have to change your life or try to earn God's love. Rather, your life changes as a result of experiencing His love once you trust Christ and become His child. 

His love is demonstrated through His patience. The parable in Luke 15:11-24 shows how patient and changeless God's love is for His children, even if we sin.

His love has no end.

His love is demonstrated through discipline. God also shows His love by disciplining you when you are disobedient. His purpose for discipline is for your good. He does this to help you grow and mature spiritually. The result is that you may share His holiness and the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

His love is consistent. No matter what your circumstance, His love is consistent.
