The Whole Story: A Life in God's Kingdom, Part FourSample
Family Devotional:
The latter half of Leviticus 11 deals directly with worship practices in Israel. In particular, God outlines the preparation of the people before they engage in worship. In Levitical days, people who were “unclean” were not permitted to worship as to keep order and avoid chaos. In the modern world, there still exists a preparation before worship. Numerous times in the New Testament, Paul stresses the importance of order within worship. Thus, necessary steps must be taken to ensure healthy postures of heart and environments that are prepared to worship YHWH.
Daily Demonstration:
Are there any distractions in your life that are holding you back from fully engaging God in worship? Perhaps it is anxiety, shame, or suffering? Remember, God desires all of your heart. Don’t be afraid to take the necessary steps to overcome these barriers in the name of Jesus.
