Overcoming CrisisSample
Here we get to look at the second half of verse 5 as well as the rest of Psalm 23. David spends the last lines of his poem praising the ways that God has blessed Him. We find the final choice to make in crisis: focus on God’s blessings.
You can choose to call yourself a victim, to be a keyboard warrior and post all over social media about how unfair things are, to blame your circumstances on others, or you can choose to see how God could be blessing you through your crisis. When you focus on God’s blessings in your life, you remember that in everything God is in control.
As we wrap up, let’s recap the six choices we can make to overcome the crisis in our lives: choose God as your Shepherd, choose peace, choose right paths, choose courage, choose to focus on the victory, and choose to focus on God’s blessings. A crisis is temporary, but God is forever.
1) Do you believe that God will and can bless you through your crisis?
2) What choices will you make today to overcome the crisis in your life?
