Day One - God Looks After Us

Hello mini FearBusters! We hope you're enjoying following our journey with the FearBusters! Remember you can watch this week's episode on YouTube!  We are on such an exciting journey with the Fear Busters so far and we have learnt so much! 

Today we are going to be looking at Psalm 23. It talks about God being our Shepherd.  A shepherd is someone that looks after and takes care of sheep.  God is our Shepherd; we are His sheep. God looks after us and takes good care of us! 

READ:

 Our Bible story of the week is The Lord is my Shepherd. You can find it in the Beginners Bible (pages 190-193) or in Psalm 23. We are going to look at the first part of our Psalm today! It talks all about how God looks after us. 

In verse 1-2 it says, “The Lord is my shepherd. I have everything I need. He gives me rest in green pastures.”

Just like it says, God is our shepherd. Just as a shepherd takes good care of his sheep, God gives us everything we need. This means that we don’t need to worry. We can rest in knowing that God is in control! 

In verse 2 it says, “He leads me to calm water.”

God will always lead us into good things, even when things around us are hard right now. We can have peace and be calm because we know that God is in control. Listen for God’s voice speaking calm things to you.  

In verse 3 it says “He gives me new strength. For the good of his name, he leads me on paths that are right.”

God helps us to be strong and to make good choices so that we can show others how good God is. 

ASK:

Can you see how good God is in looking after you and your family right now? 

Maybe you could write a song, like David, to sing to God about how good He is? 

Don't forget to ask your grownup if they could share pictures of videos of you worshipping God with us! 

REMEMBER: 

Our memory verse for the week says “The Lord is my shepherd. I have everything I need. He gives me rest in green pastures. He leads me to calm water. He gives me new strength. For the good of his name, he leads me on paths that are right. Even if I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid because you are with me. Your rod and your shepherd’s staff comfort me. You prepare a meal for me in front of my enemies. You pour oil of blessing on my head. You give me more than I can hold. Surely your goodness and love will be with me all my life. And I will live in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalm 23)
