GO2020 | ENGAGE: May Week 4- GOSample
May 24—Let’s Go! Community
This week we will discover God’s plan to mobilize us together in community. In the book of Acts, we see that God’s people were devoted to one another; they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, they broke bread together, and they prayed together. Thousands of lives were changed and they became followers of Jesus.
God wants his people to be united, joy-filled, and loving one another, in order to demonstrate that the gospel of the kingdom is greater than all our differences. Something powerful happens when we “go” together. Jesus prayed for this very thing before he died, “that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me” (John 17:23 ESV).
This month let’s “go” together. Taking into consideration these times of “social distancing,” contact a friend and make plans to pray for your community by phone, Facetime or other video conferencing option. Ask God to lead you to a “person of peace” by divine appointment. Then, share the good news with them!
Memorize
Read this week’s memory verse, Acts 2:42. You’ll be working on memorizing this verse throughout the week. Today, simply read it and rest.
Each of our readers has a unique story of how they interact with the Bible. We invite you to click on the link below, so we can learn more about you and readers like you. Your participation will help American Bible Society continue to provide high-quality Bible resources for people everywhere and will inform the development of new Bible resources.
