GO2020 | ENGAGE: May Week 4- GOSample
May 28—Partnership in the Gospel
Read
Philippians 1:3-5
Reflect
Paul expresses thanksgiving and great joy as he writes to his fellow believers in Philippi. What is the cause of his thanksgiving and joy? From the first day they heard about Jesus from Paul (Acts 16:11-15) up to the present (when Paul wrote this letter) they worked as partners with him in making the gospel known. Those who shared the gospel with you take great joy as they watch you follow after Jesus and share his love with others. If you haven’t already, you will experience the same joy as you see your “disciples” grow in love and service for Jesus.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, Acts 2:42. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan
God wants his people to be united, joy-filled, and loving one another, in order to demonstrate that the gospel of the kingdom is greater than all our differences. Something powerful happens when we “go” together. Jesus prayed for this very thing before he died, “that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”
