In the Bible, we read about when the men of Judah assembled in the Valley of Beracah, ready to fight against three nations. Beracah means “blessing;” hence it was the Valley of Blessing. What happened there? The three armies that came against Israel basically annihilated themselves. The battle was finished before it even began, and the men of Judah picked up plunder for three days.

I have even better news for you. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He fought your greatest battle so that you didn’t have to fight it. Jesus died for your sins, was buried in the tomb for three days, and rose again so that for the rest of your life you could live a full life, and not as a dead man or woman.

You can have the plunder, if you will, of the blessings of God because you have been given every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies. If God gives you any other thing, realize He has already given you a great deal; anything else is a blessing upon blessing. 

Battles are not easy. Our victory lies not in ease, but in God doing something in us. Sooner or later, you will find that the things that are the hardest in your life are the things that have made you more like Jesus. You won’t like them, or even want them, but they will form you to be more like Him. 

When you don’t like something, invite God into it and say, “God, would You fight this battle for me?” Maybe you need to have this as an application point in your business or in your interactions. If you know you are going to have a difficult phone call, or a difficult meeting, why don’t you take 10 minutes beforehand, to pray and ask God to do something? Keep a little journal and write your prayer down. We are often so busy that we just go from one thing to another, and we jump into these difficult places instead of stepping back.

What if you just took 10 minutes, or 5 minutes, to pray? Then, watch God fight your battles for you. It will be amazing. That is what God does for us.
