Love God Greatly: Know Love: A Study on 1, 2, 3 JohnSample

If you want to see the grandest gesture of love, look to the cross. God the Father gave what was most dear to Him, His Son, to save His people. But the people God’s Son came for did not love Him. As a matter of fact, they rejected Him, were unrighteous, imperfect, rebellious, and stubborn. Doesn’t this describe us as well?
God sent His Son for us even though we are sinners. Even now, we rebel against God, ignore His Word, go our own way, and pridefully believe we know better. He loves us anyway. His faithfulness is unshakable no matter how often we fail Him. God’s love for us eclipses any love story to ever exist among people.
Lord, thank You for loving me to the point of sending Your Son to die on my behalf. Help me to see the vastness of this love and to respond with thanksgiving and worship. Amen.

About this Plan

The Apostle John had one clear message in his letters: Love one another. In the letters of 1, 2, and 3 John, the beloved disciple encouraged followers of Christ to love God by following His commands, and to love and honor fellow believers. John’s message is incredibly relevant to us today, offering insight to us as we seek to live like Jesus lived and love like Jesus loved.
