God Knows your name

DAY 3 OF 3

Delayed but not denied

I was in Jamaica for my cousin’s wedding. On the way back home, I had a connecting flight in Miami. I had to check in my luggage for my next flight. I usually dislike checking my luggage because it always ends up lost. One of the managers assured me that my luggage would arrive at my destination. When I arrived in my hometown New York City, I received a text that said, “Your luggage has been delayed.”

Many of us hate delays—whether you are waiting in line, waiting in traffic, your flight is delayed, your food is delayed, or your doctor’s appointment takes longer than usual. Delays can make you frustrated, tired, and discouraged at times.

You may feel as though your dreams are being delayed right now, that opportunities, your marriage, your healing, and your breakthrough is being delayed!

Sometimes God will delay certain things as an order of protection. Delays can often be a way of getting your house in order. What good is it to have something amazing if you aren’t ready for it?

Always remember that God has a plan and God is always working behind the scenes on your behalf. Waiting can be the most annoying thing that we have to do. In your season of waiting, you must exercise patience. Patience will help us obtain the promises of God.

Delays can be good or bad. Delays from the enemy aren’t good. The enemy will try to put roadblocks, hindrances, trials, and tribulations to delay your blessings. The enemy’s job is to steal, kill, and destroy. The best way to fight against the enemy’s devices is through prayer. In your single season, you must pray against the spirit of delay.

Just like Daniel in the Bible, his heart desires were delayed for 21 days. Can you imagine waiting for something amazing for 21 days? What about waiting for 40 years? Through it all, Daniel never stop praying. He fasted and prayed for 21 days until he received his breakthrough. Some things will not happen until we fast and pray.

Delays are only temporary. If you are still alive today, that means your blessings have not been denied, they are delayed until the perfect time. God does things in His timing. God’s timing is perfect.

Expect the great to happen this year. Walk in expectation knowing that all you are asking God for, if it is aligning with God’s will, it will happen.

Whenever you start to feel as if your dreams, opportunities, breakthrough, career, or marriage are being delayed, know that God never said NO. What you are asking for is just being delayed for his PERFECT TIME!
