Philippians 3:1 NLT
Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord...
Paul was experiencing every obstacle to joy and yet he was joyful. His secret was that he learned to rejoice in the Lord.
What does it mean?
It means that Paul rejoiced in Who God is, what He has done, and what He will do. It means that Christ was not just Lord, and Saviour, but also Paul’s Treasure! That’s why he said in Philippians 3:8:
Philippians 3:8 NLT
Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord…
Beloved, this is a time to come back to our first love - Jesus. To remember why we came to Him in the first place. As years went by, maybe we have become complicated and many other things are treasures for us: our family, our ministry, our prosperity, our success, our miracles. Sadly, we want Christ and we want all these things too. We want comfort, freedom, fellowship.
Paul only wanted Jesus.
Prisons do a special work on human hearts. We begin to think about what’s important and what’s not. In prison, Paul realised that everything else is worthless. I hope you realise it, too.
Meditate:
* Philippians 3:10 NLT
I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead...
Pray:
* Ask God to bring you to that place of simplicity, to your first love.
* Pray that you would grow in His presence.
* Pray that you would learn to rejoice in the Lord.
