River Valley Church SOAP - Part 11Sample

The author of the book of Mathew is a disciple, also known as Levi or Mathew, one of the twelve disciples. The account of Jesus’ life was written to Jewish Christians who spoke Greek in the populated urban parts of Israel prior to 70 AD. The genealogy depicted in chapter one highlights the historical evidence of how the bloodline of Jesus was established and that God was faithful to His word. It was typical that when a new ruler or king appeared, other kingdoms would send dignitaries to greet the king out of respect. The Magi or wise men were a group of men sent by the Persian King; they were skilled astronomers and dream interpreters.
The country of Turkey has been transformed by Islam, and Christians have long since felt prejudice and bias against them. Let's pray that God would transform the hearts of the Turkish people with the love of Christ, bringing unity and reconciliation to brothers and neighbors.
