River Valley Church SOAP - Part 11Sample
As Jewish the celebration of Passover continues, this complicated things for the Jewish leaders because it a week of celebration. These leaders realized they could end up causing a riot with Jesus followers by them arresting Him, but their goal to see the movement of Jesus stopped. Jewish dignitaries choose to advocate punishment of Jesus by Roman Law through this region’s territorial leader, Pontius Pilot. Pilot under Roman Law saw Jesus as someone who would oppose the Caesar as king. Wanting to show strength of leadership and control, with being strongly influenced by the Jewish leaders, Pilot made the decision to crucify Jesus, and what we call Good Friday. One day after the Sabbath, Sunday, Mary Magdalene and Mary, followers of Jesus came to the tomb and found it empty.
As we almost begin the last month of the year, we will be praying for the Czech Republic. First, let's pray for the president, Miloš Zeman. Let's join in praying that he would lead well, and that he would be transformed in wisdom and knowledge of the Lord.
